Telling the story of Saskatchewan eggs

Posted on

Saskatchewan Egg Producers have recently launched a video series to tell the story of egg production in Saskatchewan and the people involved.

This professional and positive video series shines a spotlight on a number of family farms, an egg processing facility in Saskatoon and poultry science research at the University of Saskatchewan.

Through these videos, consumers are able to meet the families that care for laying hens, and learn about the animal welfare practices, biosecurity measures and technology involved in egg production. Plum Blossom Farms, owned by Art and Elaine Pruim of Osler was one of the egg farms featured in this series:

Consumers also have an opportunity to meet Dr. Jenny Fricke and Dr. Karen Schwean-Lardner and learn about the science behind, and various careers involved in the poultry industry.
