With Earth Day quickly approaching on April 22, this is the perfect time to tell the world all the great ways we protect the land on our farms.
While a lot of the sustainable actions we take on the farm are simple, common sense approaches, they do add up to having a significant positive impact on the environment.
In fact, a recent Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) study found that 95 per cent of Canadian farmers are taking action to protect the environment. That’s a reality we need to share.
If you’re wondering what types of stories to highlight from your operation, here are a few ideas to consider:
- water protection/conservation
- recycling/proper disposal of chemicals
- soil conservation
- waste management
- precision farming
- changes in production cycles to reduce fuel consumption
While a lot of these efforts may seem small, the impacts are enormous – and these types of actions are happening every day on thousands of farms right across the country.
Let’s get in on this year’s Earth Day conversations. You’ve got a great story to tell. Add your pictures and stories of sustainability to your favorite social media channel today using #AgMoreThanEver.
