Ag proud? Blog about it!

Posted on

Want to ramp up your agvocacy efforts? Writing your own blog is a great way to share your thoughts and pride in our industry.

There are many blogs about food and farming written by those outside the industry that contain myths and misconceptions. A blog gives you a voice to tell the real, positive story of ag and talk about what’s important to you. You live ag every day, so who better to tell its story?

Free sites like WordPress and Tumblr offer easy templates to get started. And you don’t need to be a professional writer – it’s as simple as telling stories about what you did on the farm today. Just speak from the heart and people will listen.

Below are examples of great ag blogs that can spark ideas for you. While we don’t necessarily endorse all of the opinions expressed in these blogs, we definitely endorse them being active voices for our industry – that’s what being an agvocate is all about!

We also regularly feature blogs by guests on our website, like Jake Leguee’s Why I Write. Do you already have a blog? Are there farm and food bloggers that you follow/admire? Let us know about them.
